Sosten rented a mini-van and Bahasi, of course, had their people accompany them to Blantyre - nearby.
They had a ball and thrilled with the outing and presents.

A bit exhausted from our efforts, but with your help and support in many ways, replenished me each and every day. Been at for this for 5 weeks and tomorrow Dec 1, 2025 is the very last day for our Campaign. That, however, does not end our efforts for the orphans of Bahasi.And because I have seen with my own eyes, their circumstances, I have been knocking on your doors for an alm. I hope that did not upset you in the least.And I shall keep you informed, of course, of the happeningsat Christmas for the children, or if something major happens...
We are all exhausted, but have plenty of energy left to make it count for the Final Stretch. This drive comes from the heart & personal experience - seeing with my own eyes the conditions of Malawian people and specifically the children that stole my heart, when I was there 3 years ago.

Malawi's economic condition is marked by a severe and protracted crisis, characterized by high inflation, food insecurity, and declining living standards. The economy is heavily reliant on agriculture, but growth has been impacted by climate shocks, insufficient forex for imports, and fiscal imbalances. Recent forecasts project slow GDP growth due to a weaker agricultural season and other challenges, while public debt remains high and poverty persists. Maintaining high rates of poverty, with 75% of the population living on less than $3.00/day, one of the highest in the region

Due to the increase in population and the need for woodfuel for cooking and heating, Malawi has lost 85% of its trees in the last 20 years, and as the graph shows: at current rates of population growth and deforestation, by 2025 the country will no longer have enough biomass to sustain the population.
